What is the history and popularity of the app?

Mobypicture was created to give users a simple way to share audio, video, images and text with friends. The application appears on many review sites and other third party sources, but it hasn’t seen significant popularity as of yet. Some mobile versions received less than satisfactory ratings from users. The site offers a number of ways to upload and share content, which gives the user more options when creating content.

What are the differences to other apps?

Mobypicture is all about sharing content with others. The application focuses on various media, from audio clips to video and images. The service takes features from many other, similar services and offers them in one simple package. Although users can share content other ways, Mobypicture provides a wide range of options when uploading and sharing content on third party websites. The process is simple and takes minimal time from start to finish.

How does the web app look and feel to use?

Mobypicture uses a minimalist design that favors a plain white background. The visual highlights include the application’s whale mascot and hints of green and blue found in small buttons and banners. Media pages are set up like watered down Flickr pages. Users can see stats for a specific item and post comments on the same page. Although the design isn’t extravagant or cutting edge, it gets the job done with no clutter or other obstacles to slow the user down.

How does the registration process work?

A new user can join the Mobypicture community by clicking the blue “Login or Sign Up” tab tucked into the upper, right hand corner of the homepage. Users can click the small blue “Sign up now!” link along the right side of the next page. The registration form asks for a username, four digit pin number and email address. Optional fields are available for first and last name, country and mobile phone number. After completing the Captcha code at the bottom of the form, the user can check the terms of use agreement box and submit their information. The user is automatically signed in and can complete their profile or explore Mobypicture.

What does it cost to use the application?

Mobypicture offers its services at no cost. There are no subscription fees and users are not required to make any purchases. The site is purely about sharing content online. Users should note that there may be fees associated with handling content through mobile devices. These fees are a part of user’s mobile service plan and not Mobypicture. The application offers a decent service for the free price tag it comes with.

Who would you recommend the application to?

Mobypicture is ideal for anyone who enjoys sharing video, audio or images with friends online. The application is simple to use and gives users many ways to upload from mobile devices or the web. Many popular third party sites are supported for sharing as well. Users should note that some content on the site is not appropriate for younger users. There is an 18+ content setting available on profiles, however some user uploaded images may be questionable and available before the user signs in.
